For over 18 years, I've lived, breathed, and dreamed technology and if there's one thing I've learned it's that you have to be smart about technology. My experiences heading up technology teams in startups, large enterprises, and my own entrepreneurial ventures have again and again reinforced my belief that it all boils down to how technology is applied to a business. Not technology for the sake of technology. Instead, using technology from the perspective of what it takes to achieve business goals in the most cost effective and scalable manner possible. This approach combined with having the right people on your team and in your company, is the deciding factor. And it always will be. Sounds easy right? Well not quite. Rules of technology and how it's applied are always changing!
